Yes and here is exactly how it works.
Every name on your list has an equal chance of being picked. The tool does not remember previous draws, cannot be influenced by who is running it, and produces a statistically fair result every single time.
Under the hood, a free random name picker uses a Pseudo-Random Number Generator (PRNG) to select names. The process works in three steps: every name on your list is assigned a number, the PRNG uses a constantly changing seed value (typically the exact millisecond on the system clock) to generate a number within that range, and the tool displays the name that was picked.
The result is statistically fair — every name has an equal probability of being selected, assuming no weights are applied. The draw cannot be reverse-engineered, replayed to get a different result, or influenced by who is running it.
- Server-side generation. The randomization happens on the server, not in the browser. This means the result cannot be manipulated by refreshing the page or adjusting browser settings.
